1. I have never been to your hospital why am I receiving a bill?

The hospital bills for many entities other then the hospital. It's possible you may receive a bill for one of our outpatient clinics, a primary doctor or any number of lab procedures where you never came to the hospital.

2. I already paid a bill for this date of service why are you sending me another?

The bill you paid may not have been the hospital facility bill. Many factions of your healthcare are billed separately. Physicians, pathology, radiology and other specialty services submit individual bills.

How many other bills will I receive?

That will depend on the type of services you received and who provided them. Specific physician specialties often bill separately for their services such as radiologists, pathologist and Anesthesiologists. Other types of Doctors may also bill separately for their services.

4. Why do I have a different account number on this visit, then my last one?

To make it easier to identify the specific treatment you received, you are assigned a new number each time you have a different procedure or test during that day's visit.

5. Why am I getting a bill for TV and phone?

There is a daily charge for both phone and TV. These charges are not payable by your health insurance coverage.

6. Why am I being charged for respiratory pulmonary therapy, I never had any therapy?

Respiratory pulmonary therapy measures your oxygen levels during your stay and is an extremely important part of the hospital process.

7. Why are you sending me a bill when my insurance already paid you?

Most likely because your insurance did not cover the entire amount of your hospital stay. Please refer to your explanation of benefits that should have been provided to you by your insurance company.

8. Why didn't my insurance pay?

Your insurance company should have provided you with an explanation of benefits that should give you the answers you are seeking. Or call your insurance company for a specific explanation. You may be able to provide them information they require in order to pay the bill.
